This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv police.
The police received a report of a shooting on Esplanadnaya Street. An investigative team, operatives and the leadership of the Pechersk police department immediately went to the scene of the incident, the report says.
As it turned out, the cause of the shooting was a conflict between hotel residents.
The incident occurred on the ground floor of the hotel between a group of people and an unknown person. During a verbal conflict, the offender received a weapon and shot at one of the men, as a result of which the victim was wounded in the leg, said Andrey Dubrova, head of the Pechersk police department.
It is noted that after the crime, the attacker immediately fled the scene in a car, so a special police operation was introduced in the capital and all police units were focused on searching for this car. Within an hour, the man was detained on Mykhailo Boychuk Street. He turned out to be a native of the Odessa region, born in 1990.
During a search of the car, investigators seized a possible weapon for committing the crime – a traumatic pistol. Currently, the issue of informing the violator of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – hooliganism, is being resolved,” Dubrova noted.
