The Russian invaders suffered heavy losses in the Yagodnoye – Kupyansk-Uzlovoy section. The actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces forced them to stop the offensive and regroup. This was announced by the Commander of the Ground Forces, Colonel General Alexander Syrsky, in Telegram on Saturday, November 4.

“In the Yagodnoye – Kupyansk-Uzlovoy sector, the enemy suffered heavy losses, stopped active operations and is now regrouping,” he said.

According to the general, with the forces of 6 combined arms and 1 tank army, the enemy continues to conduct offensive operations in the Kupyansky, Pervomaisky and Orlyansky forest area.

Also, the Russian military is increasing its efforts to gain the dominant height, capture Sinkovka and create favorable conditions for the capture of Kupyansk.

“The defense forces professionally carry out their tasks – in the last week under the direction of Kupyansky, the losses of the occupiers in personnel amounted to 583 people, of which 220 died, 358 were wounded, 5 soldiers of the enemy was captured,” Syrsky said.

Earlier, Alexander Syrsky said that the Russians did not achieve a strategic victory in the direction of Kupyansk.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine also named the main goal of the Russians near Kupyansk – the defeat of a group of troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the siege of Kupyansk and reaching the line of the Oskol River.
