Earlier, authorities evacuated more than 600 children from a 5-km zone from the Russian border. Now they want to expand the evacuation to an area of up to 30 km. The reason for this was that the army of the aggressor country increased the number of attacks. This was stated by the head of the Sumy OVA Vladimir Artyukh during a meeting with the Human Rights Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets, reports “Public”.
According to him, on behalf of the National Security Council, the construction of protective structures in the region continues. Now they have been increased to 40% compared to what it was in July of this year.
I think that we should evacuate almost all children from the 13-kilometer zone to safer places,” said the head of the regional state administration.
Let us remind you that on the night of November 4, the Russian army attacked the Sumy region with two Shahed kamikaze drones, shot down by the Ukrainian military. The enemy fired 24 times from mortars, cannon and rocket artillery at the border territories and settlements of the Sumy region.
