In particular, it is difficult for the enemy to modernize the Tu-160 and Tu-95 bombers. The occupiers cannot overcome the difficulties of improving the air component of the strategic nuclear forces. The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced this on November 4 on social networks.
Intelligence notes that as part of the partial modernization of the Tu-160 and Tu-95 strategic bombers, the Russians should process one or two aircraft annually. And deliveries of new Tu-160M2 bombers planned for this year have been postponed to a later date. The fact is that the Russians were never able to resume production of a new version of the NK-32 engines.
The Main Intelligence Directorate emphasized that problems with the restoration of these aircraft are associated with Western sanctions imposed against Russia. And the scientific, technical and industrial bases of Russia are not capable of producing the necessary components to replace imported ones.
Let us remind you that the Main Intelligence Directorate said that the Russian Federation conducted unsuccessful tests of the Yars and Bulava missiles, which are carriers of nuclear weapons. The Russians also have serious problems with the Sarmat heavy intercontinental ballistic missile, which Moscow has been creating since 2009.
