The number of victims of the earthquake in Nepal, which occurred on the night of Friday, November 3, is close to 70. Reuters reported this in relation to local authorities.
Nepal’s National Seismological Center reported the earthquake’s magnitude as 6.4, but the German Geosciences Research Center (GFZ) later downgraded the magnitude to 5.7.
Local officials said contact has not been established in the area near the epicenter in Jajarkot. Local official Harish Chandra Sharma noted that at least 34 people were killed in his district, while in the neighboring district of Rukum West, police officer Namaraj Bhattarai reported at least 35 deaths . So, at least 69 victims are known.
“Rescue and search teams must clear roads blocked by dry landslides due to the earthquake to reach the affected areas,” Bhattarai said.
Authorities have not yet reached Ramidand, where the epicenter is located.
It will be recalled that on Friday it was reported that due to the earthquake in Nepal, at least 22 people died and dozens were injured.
