Energy workers are warning of the threat of blackouts

Bad weather approaching Ukraine could cause downed trees and downed wires. Energy workers have moved into enhanced mode and are ready to eliminate the consequences. It was announced on the evening of Friday, November 3, by the press services of the Ministry of Energy and the DTEK of the capital.

“DTEK energy companies have been switched to enhanced mode in Kiev and the Kiev region. Forecasters predict that there will be heavy rain this weekend. Therefore, we will work in enhanced mode in order to in the event of accidents, they can be removed as quickly as possible,” explains the introduction of the enhanced mode in DTEK .

They noted that due to the difficult weather conditions in the Kyiv region, trees may fall and wires may break. Energy workers urge people not to neglect safety rules and not to approach power lines.

On November 4, at night in the west, during the day in the central and southern regions, wind gusts of 15-20 m/s were estimated, in the Carpathians at night – up to 20-25 m/s (danger level 1 . – yellow)

“In this regard, in these areas there is a risk of damage to the equipment and, as a result, possible interruption of the electricity supply,” said the Ministry of Energy.

They also added that all services are prepared to deal with the consequences of bad weather in case of such damage.
