He is an experienced officer – a combat officer, the right leader and someone who can add more power to our Special Operations Forces. We are waiting for new results,” Zelensky commented on the appointment of Sergei Lupanchuk as commander of the Special Operations Forces.

The President added that the commander of the Special Operations Forces, General Viktor Khorenko, will continue to perform special tasks as part of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

According to Decree No. 728/2023, Colonel Sergei Lupanchuk, information about whom is not publicly available, became the new commander of the Special Forces.

Khorenko was the commander of the Special Operations Forces on July 25, 2022.
