On the day of the Hamas attack on October 7, both sides had roughly equal support. However, as of October 19, pro-Palestinian posts were found almost 4 times more often than pro-Israeli ones.
This is evidenced by a study by the company DRM using artificial intelligence, commissioned by The Economist.
Opinion polls generally show overwhelming support for Israel. For example, a US poll showed that for every one supporter of Palestine, there are three supporters of Israel.
At the same time, on American social networks on the same date there were twice as many pro-Palestinian posts as pro-Israel ones.
The situation was similar in Great Britain, Denmark, France, Spain and Sweden.
The reason for this gap, according to researchers, is the age of social network users. The youth, they say, have “unusually pro-Palestinian” views.
