Ukraine’s funding request will be passed by Congress when it comes up for a vote. State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller announced this on Wednesday, November 1, Voice of America reports.
“We think it’s a practical matter that when Ukraine’s funding request comes up for a vote, it will pass both houses of Congress,” Miller said.
He added that the United States continues to consider it important to support Ukraine. He emphasized that the United States will help Ukraine defend against Russian attacks.
“You saw the president give a speech in the Oval Office about our support for Ukraine. We will continue to stay focused on that,” he added.
US State Department head Antony Blinken and Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin spoke at a Senate hearing to secure a $106 billion package, most of which is intended to support Ukraine and Israel.
