French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Kazakhstan on Wednesday, November 1, and met with his counterpart Kasim-Jomart Tokayev. It was reported by Reuters.
During the meeting, Macron praised Tokayev for refusing to side with Moscow on the Ukraine issue. He also added that the countries signed a declaration of intent for cooperation in the field of rare earths and rare metals.
“France appreciates… the path you are taking for your country, refusing to be a vassal of any power and striving to build plural and balanced relations with different countries,” said the French President.
The Kremlin reacted to Macron’s visit to Kazakhstan. Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said the Russian Federation “very highly values” its relations with Kazakhstan. He added that Kazakhstan, as a sovereign state, can develop relations with any countries.
We remind you that Kazakhstan has introduced a ban on the export of certain goods to Russia.
