Ukrainian pilots will be able to master Western fighters in five to nine months, but this will also depend on the individual skills of the pilots themselves.
It takes five to nine months to train Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighters. US Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder announced this in a briefing at the Pentagon on Tuesday, October 31.
“We expect that graduation completion will depend on the individual abilities of the pilots themselves, but we can estimate that it will take them five to nine months to complete this training,” Ryder said.
Previously, the minimum predicted training period was three months, or “several months.”
The Pentagon announced on September 19 that the United States will train the Ukrainians on the F-16. Before this, training began abroad.
