The British diplomat wrote about this on Twitter.
The Foreign Minister of the United Kingdom noted that London is trying to negotiate a pause in hostilities in the Gaza Strip in order to deliver more humanitarian aid to the region. He stressed that the safety of British citizens is the government’s absolute priority.
Hamas should allow foreign citizens to leave Gaza. “We are coordinating closely with Egypt and Israel to ensure the British can leave as quickly as possible,” Cleverley said.
Let us remind you that on October 7, Hamas terrorists unexpectedly attacked Israel. On October 27, Jerusalem began to intensify its attack on Gaza. The Israel Defense Forces announced the expansion of ground operations. Hamas-controlled territory is attacked not only with the help of ground forces – air force and navy are also used for this.
At the same time, Cypriot authorities intend to double the number of places in the largest refugee camp, preparing for an influx of people if the crisis in the Middle East escalates.
