The country plans to deport 39 Russian citizens for their “radicalization” on religious grounds.
After the killing of a lyceum professor in the French city of Arras, the country’s government wants to deport 39 Russian citizens. This was announced by French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin, BFMTV reports.
According to him, about 60 Russians suspected of radicalization are under administrative arrest. 39 of them must be removed with the consent of the Russian authorities.
It was mentioned that after the murder of Professor Dominique Bernard in Arras by the radical S group of Russian origin, the government wanted to show firmness.
The executive authorities plan to deport as soon as possible those in “Case S”, who are obliged to leave French territory, and ask the prefects to pay attention to “Caucasian citizens aged 16 to 25 years” .
“The attacker in Arras, 20-year-old Mohammed Mogouchkov, fits this category: he was born in Ingushetia, an autonomous republic of Russia, and has been under surveillance and trial since early October,” the the newspaper wrote.
France has compiled a list of 39 Russian citizens who are specifically monitored by the country and suspected of radicalization. Paris presented the list to Russian authorities last week.
Let’s remember that on October 13, a 20-year-old Chechen, a native of Russia, attacked a school with a knife in the city of Arras in northern France, killing a literature teacher and wounding two other people. He was detained by the police.
After the terrorist attack, France declared a heightened terrorist threat regime in the country.
