On the evening of Sunday, October 29, at 4 o’clock in the morning, Ukraine moved into the winter season. The hands of the clock went back one hour.
So, these days are automatically “increased” by one hour.
According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of May 13, 1996, the transition to “winter” time occurs annually on the last Sunday of October at 4 am. This year, the date is on October 29.
When the summer and winter seasons change, most electronic devices, such as computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets and others, automatically change their clocks, synchronizing through the Internet.
If the device is not connected to the Internet, the time must be changed manually in the device settings. Mechanical or electronic watches are also manually adjusted.
Please note that the exact time can be found by dialing *160# on your mobile phone. The service is free and available to subscribers of all Ukrainian mobile operators.
By the way, Ukrzaliznytsia reminded that the departure and arrival times of trains on the tickets are indicated taking into account the translation of the hands of the clock. The organization agrees to all schedule changes in advance.
In 2021, Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk registered a bill proposing to cancel the seasonal clock change, leaving “winter” in Ukraine. Parliament did not pass this law; document sent for revision.
