In the regional center, due to the spread of this disease, schoolchildren are being transferred to online learning. An epidemiological investigation is still underway, but the source of infection has not yet been established. An outbreak of hepatitis A in the Vinnytsia region became known on October 24. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
It is noted that on October 28, a team from the Ministry of Health headed by the chief state sanitary doctor Igor Kuzin will arrive in the Vinnytsia region. They will study the situation on site and take all necessary measures to establish the source of infection.
The Ministry of Health reminded that hepatitis A is a viral disease that affects the liver and can have a mild or severe course. This virus is transmitted by consuming contaminated food or water. The incubation period for viral hepatitis A usually lasts 14-28 days. The most common symptoms include weakness, fever, diarrhea, vomiting, and jaundice. Vaccination against it is not included in the routine vaccination schedule.
Let us remind you that in June, after the Russians blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station in the Kherson region, cholera and E. coli were discovered. The State Environmental Inspectorate then urged local residents not to use water from wells.
