The Russian Federation is an interested party in the escalation in the Middle East, the NSDC Secretary emphasized.
Ukrainian authorities have evidence that the aggressor state Russia took a “large part” in Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel. The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Alexey Danilov, said this on Friday, October 27, in an interview with Channel 24.
He reported that three days before the Hamas attack on Israel, the number of Russian cyber attacks on Ukraine decreased.
“The Center under the National Security and Defense Council, which deals with cybersecurity and continues to monitor all attacks on our state, found out that three days before October 7 (when Hamas militants attacked Israel), there 70% decrease in attacks on our cyberspace,” said Danilov.
Ukrainian experts then analyzed what or who was doing the Russian military units involved in the cyber attacks.
“They are particularly prevalent in Israel,” Danilov said.
The NSDC Secretary emphasized that these facts are proof that the Russians were directly involved in the attack on Israel.
“They are interested in the war between Hamas and Israel,” Danilov stressed.
Earlier, the SBU said that since the beginning of the year, its cyber specialists had neutralized about 4,000 cyber attacks on electronic systems of central government bodies and critical infrastructure in Ukraine.
