New Year’s Eve, organized by the mayor’s office, has not been held in the capital for several years. The last time it took place was in 2019, and then many stars performed on Bankova Square. However, for the last few years there have been no mass celebrations in the city. In 2020 and 2021, the holiday was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. And in 2022, the event was abandoned due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and expensive energy resources.
Warsaw City Hall representative Monika Beut said in a comment to the eska portal. pl that this year the celebration of New Year’s Eve was abandoned for financial reasons. The authorities decided that these large sums of money, which would have gone to the New Year’s concert, in the current situation could be spent on other needs.
Let us remind you that in August 2023, after a three-year break, a parade was held in Poland on the occasion of Army Day. This military parade in Warsaw was the largest in recent decades. He was joined by soldiers from the USA, Great Britain, Croatia and Romania.
