The transition to winter time in 2023 will take place on October 29 on the night from Saturday to Sunday. This means that the clock will need to be set back one hour at 4.00. This event marks the coming period of cold weather and longer nights.

It should be noted that most electronic devices will migrate on their own, but mechanical or non-internet-connected devices will need to be migrated manually.
The change of clocks in Ukraine to winter and summer time has been carried out for almost four decades – on the last Sunday of October and on the last Sunday of March. It is regulated by Cabinet Resolution No. 509 of May 13, 1996 “On the procedure for calculating time on the territory of Ukraine.”
Summer and winter time calculations were first introduced in Great Britain in 1908 to save and more rationally distribute electricity throughout the day.
The clock change in Ukraine began in 1981. The goal was to save energy and extend daylight hours. Since that time, our country began to change the clock hands twice a year.
In March 2021, the Verkhovna Rada sent bill No. 4201 “On the calculation of time in Ukraine” for revision to the committee, proposing to abolish seasonal clock changes and, thus, leave winter time in Ukraine.
