In the north of the country, hundreds of kilometers of anti-vehicle ditches have been created and hundreds of kilometers of various types of fences have been built.
Ukrainian engineering teams of border detachments serving in the north of our country carry out daily work to strengthen the border line with Belarus. This was said on Thursday, October 26, by the representative of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andrey Demchenko in a telethon.
“The situation is different than on February 24 last year. The border is constantly being strengthened. I can talk about the units of the State Border Service – our engineering groups of border detachments, which serve and guard and defending the border of Belarus, carry out work every day to strengthen the border line.” , he said.
Demchenko clarified that the work is being carried out along the entire border of Belarus, which is about 1,100 kilometers long. And now, hundreds of kilometers of anti-vehicle ditches have been created, hundreds of kilometers of various types of fences have been built.
“It is also the destruction of all possible routes that cross the state border. And in addition to this, it is the fortification of the border, as well as the borders. In particular, it is hundreds of different positions (firing positions, dugouts, shelters, trenches and trenches) for this “so that our soldiers have the opportunity to repel any attack, should something happen again from this direction. And in addition, of course, it is the mining area of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the most threatening directions,” added Demchenko.
