Between October 17 and October 24, US troops in the Middle East were attacked more than 10 times by drones and missiles while conducting combat missions in Iraq and Syria.
The United States will respond to attacks on American military bases in the Middle East in its own time. White House National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby said this on Thursday, October 26, Reuters reports.
“US President Joe Biden sent a direct message to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, warning him against attacks on US troops in the region,” Kirby said.
He added that in the past week there have been more than a dozen attacks on US troops in Iraq and Syria.
The United States emphasized that this warning “is not related to Israel.”
Two dozen US troops were injured in a series of drone attacks on US bases in Iraq and Syria last week, according to media reports.
