The Ukrainian army is firmly holding its defense in the Avdiivka area and is continuing its offensive operations in the south.
Russian troops lost 460 men and 49 pieces of equipment in the Tauride direction per day. The commander of the operational-strategic group of forces announced this on October 26 Tavria Alexander Tarnavsky.
He noted that the missile and artillery units completed 1,056 fire missions.
In particular, 13 Russian tanks, nine armored fighting vehicles, ten artillery systems, an air defense system (Tor air defense system), nine UAVs, six vehicles, a unit of special equipment, as well as three Enemy ammunition depots were destroyed.
“Our soldiers continue to hold the defense in the Avdeevsky direction. The offensive actions of the enemy in the areas of Stepnoy, Avdeevka, Tonechko and Severny were unsuccessful – 15 enemy attacks were stopped in the last 24 hour. At the same time, the offensive operation in the direction of Melitopol continues,” Tarnavsky stressed.
The commander added that in total the enemy carried out 16 airstrikes, carried out 47 military engagements and carried out 763 artillery attacks.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that after two weeks of offensive operations in the area of Avdeevka and Marinka, the Russian army lost up to five thousand soldiers killed and wounded. The Defense Forces also destroyed up to 400 armored vehicles.
