The Central District Military Court in Russian Yekaterinburg sentenced a resident of Chuvashia, who “intended to set fire to an administrative building,” to 4.5 years in prison and a maximum security colony. Interfax reported this on October 26.
According to the investigation, the man was “a follower of the ideology of a Ukrainian organization banned in Russia” and in the fall of 2021 allegedly made three incendiary devices.
“To set fire to an administrative building in the city of Alatyr, he built a hideout in a wooded area,” the FSB said.
It was noted that the defendant was found guilty of preparing for a terrorist act (part 1 of article 30, part 1 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
