More than 350 Ukrainians have expressed a desire to evacuate from the Gaza Strip. Ukrainian diplomats maintain contact with them.
As of Thursday morning, October 26, 21 Ukrainians are known to have died in Israel and three have died in the Gaza Strip. Spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Oleg Nikolenko said this, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
“Unfortunately, the number of victims among Ukrainians in Israel has increased. In general, so far there is confirmed information about 21 Ukrainians killed, as well as one missing. In the Gaza Strip, there are three dead (two child and an adult) , as well as six wounded, out of which three are children,” he said.
He added that the Ukrainians had injuries of varying degrees of severity. They are given medical assistance.
According to the Foreign Ministry, 357 Ukrainians, of which 208 are women, have expressed a desire to evacuate from the Gaza Strip. Ukrainian diplomats are in constant contact with them.
“At the same time, the Rafah checkpoint on the border of the Gaza Strip and Egypt is not yet operational. There is no chance to leave. This applies not only to our citizens, but also to citizens of other countries,” Nikolenko added.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the IDF was preparing for a ground invasion in Gaza and that the deadlines for this had been accepted.
And now it is known that the IDF carried out a night raid with tanks in Gaza.
