About 600 thousand Palestinians are hiding in UN shelters in Gaza, said the secretary general of the organization.
Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip have raised the death toll of UN Relief Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) workers to 35. This is what UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said.
“I mourn and honor dozens of UN colleagues. Unfortunately, at least 35 have died in the bombing of Gaza in the past two weeks, and the number is growing,” he said.
According to the Secretary General, approximately 600 thousand Palestinians are hiding in UN shelters in Gaza.
“We must demand that all parties comply with and respect their obligations under international humanitarian law; maintain at all times the safety of civilian populations when conducting hostilities; and respect and protect hospitals and the integrity of UN facilities,” Guterres said.
Let’s remember that on October 11, it was known that nine UN employees were killed as a result of airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.
