Russian propaganda sources claimed that US President Joe Biden was allegedly forced to “abruptly cut off” his speech due to the new attacks.

The Pentagon confirmed information that militants tried to attack an American military base in Syria using attack drones. Pentagon spokesman General Patrick Ryder said this on Monday, October 23, in a video briefing.

“I can confirm that there was an attempted drone attack on al-Tanf (an American military base – ed.) in Syria. Two attack drones were shot down. No American military personnel were injured,” Ryder said.

He clarified that we are talking about a shelling that took place in the afternoon of October 23, Kyiv time.

At the same time, the media spread information that alleged militants of the Islamic Movement of Iraq group, supported by Iran, announced attacks on two more American bases in Syria, but no official confirmation of this information.

It was previously reported that three American military installations were attacked in Syria – the al-Tanf and al-Shadadi bases, as well as the al-Omar oil field.

An increase in attacks on United States bases in Syria and Iraq resulted in little damage but raised new fears that Israel’s war with Hamas could spark a larger conflict and involve the United States.
