Fraudsters send letters on behalf of the OVA leader to heads of regional military administrations or businessmen, and make phone calls on behalf of OVA chairmen.
In Ukraine, scammers on behalf of regional military administrations “collect aid” for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“Fraudsters use different communication channels. For example, they send letters on behalf of the head of the regional military administration to the heads of regional military administrations or entrepreneurs, and make phone calls on behalf of of the chairmen of the Regional Military Administration,” the message said.
Scammers are calling for financial assistance to meet the needs of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine. In addition, they often name a specific unit whose needs are said to be necessary to raise funds, and a list of equipment.
The Ministry called to check the authenticity of all requests from regional military administrations using the contacts indicated in the official OVA source. If you receive such requests, you should contact the police.
Let’s recall that in Ukraine a scheme for the sale of non-existent vehicles for the Ukrainian Armed Forces was exposed.
