This was reported by the Radio Liberty project “Schemes”.
Damage at the airfield was recorded by Planet Labs satellites. The first photo was taken on August 19, the second on October 18. The last photo shows burnt marks and destruction.
As Planet Labs photographs published by the founder of the Frontelligence Insight community indicate, at least five helicopters, among which several Ka-52s can be identified, were hit at an air base near Lugansk.
The extent of damage to each aircraft is difficult to assess due to the fact that the ATACMS cluster weapons are miniature M74s with a diameter of 6 cm and a weight of 600 grams each. However, it is likely that not all enemy aircraft are in airworthy condition. The photo shows that some machines are missing blades, and traces of leakage of fuel and lubricants are also recorded.
Let us remind you that on October 17, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Russian airfields in temporarily occupied Lugansk and Berdyansk. Yesterday, satellite images of the Berdyansk airfield after being hit by ATACMS appeared online. The Washington Post reported that ATACMS missiles were used for the attack.
