The speaker of the United Press Center of the Tauride Defense Forces, Alexander Shtupun, spoke about this on air at the national telethon, Interfax-Ukraine agency reports.
With the support of aviation, the enemy continues to try to cordon off Avdeevka; over the past 24 hours, our soldiers have repelled three enemy attacks and shot down another enemy Su-25 attack aircraft. This is already the fifth plane shot down in the Donetsk region over the past 10 days,” he emphasized.
According to Shtupun, the Russians quite actively use attack front-line aviation to support their offensive units – these are mainly subsonic aircraft forced to fly close to Ukrainian positions.
“The enemy also uses Su-35 and Su-34 throughout the Taurida direction; they do not enter the range of our air defense, they shoot from afar, they are afraid,” he noted.
Shtupun also reported that over the past 24 hours, in the Melitopol direction, military personnel of the Allied Forces of Ukraine “Tavria” advanced southwest of the village of Verbovoye, Zaporozhye region.
We have advanced up to 400 m in certain directions, he noted.
