Air defense is of great importance, especially during the heating season. Not only the installations themselves are highly valued, but also the ammunition and missiles. The practice of transferring air defense systems already exists in the world. Press Secretary of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Yuriy Ignat announced this on October 15 during a telethon.
We already have this practice. It is clear that each country, first of all, cares about its own protection. No one will just give us their air defense. Why does it take so long to supply air defense, why is it dosed? Because there is not enough of it in the world to give it to us,” he noted.
At the same time, the press secretary of the Air Force did not disclose the countries that have provided or will lease air defense systems to Ukraine, because the partners do not want to make this information public.
Let us recall that on October 11, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that Ukraine had armed itself with a new air defense system, and for this system the Americans were transferring AIM-9M air-to-air missiles equipped with an infrared homing head to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This ammunition will be included in the new $200 million safety benefit package.
