The Israel Defense Forces press service said that Merad Abu Merad was “largely responsible for leading the terrorists during Saturday’s massacre,” among whom were militants who infiltrated Israel from the air on paragliders.
The IDF added that “large-scale strikes” on multiple targets in the Gaza Strip on the night of October 14 killed dozens of Hamas’ elite Nukhba special forces unit. Nukhba fighters, the IDF statement said, “were one of the leading forces leading the infiltration into Israel” on October 7.
