The text of the suspicion refers to the abuse of power or official authority by a military official (Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the Office of the Prosecutor General reported on October 14.
According to the investigation, in March 2022, the suspect issued an illegal order for the forced expropriation during martial law in favor of the military unit of the real estate of several legal entities in the Dnieper. This property is located on two land plots near the Dnieper River with an area of 1.3 hectares.
Subsequently, this order became the basis for the raider seizure of real estate by unidentified persons of a volunteer formation who had no relation to this military unit and government officials, dismantling and destruction of buildings. They subsequently fenced the land for the purpose of building new properties.
The Office of the Prosecutor General believes that such unlawful actions caused 21 million UAH of damage to victims. The conclusion of a forensic military examination confirmed the illegality of the order and actions of the commander.
The land plots have been seized. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being decided.
