This was announced at an audio briefing on October 13 by John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator for the US National Security Council.
As was the case during Russia’s failed winter offensive last year, the Russian military appears to be using wave attack tactics, where they throw masses of poorly trained soldiers directly onto the battlefield without proper equipment, Kirby said.
According to him, Russia does not take into account the lives of its soldiers and voluntarily sacrifices them to achieve the goal, while Ukraine fights “effectively and wisely.”
The Ukrainians are working hard to repel these offensive maneuvers, the official added.
He noted that the United States will continue to support Ukraine.

On October 14, the General Staff reported that in the area of responsibility of the Tavria OSV in the Avdeevsky direction, the enemy is not abandoning attempts to break through our defenses, but to no avail.
Our defenders repulsed about 20 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Avdeevka, Keramik, Tonechko, Severnoye, Pervomaiskoye, Netailovo in the Donetsk region. In just one day, about 100 military clashes took place at the front.
