This was reported by Politico, citing its own sources.
According to the publication, Blinken announced a possible invasion “in the near future” during a conversation with legislators a week ago. The legislators themselves at that moment discussed the possibility of “introducing measures” against Azerbaijani President Aliyev for the invasion of Karabakh that took place in September.
At the same time, the Secretary of State said that the State Department was looking for ways to hold Azerbaijan accountable for the invasion. Also, the United States no longer plans to provide military assistance to Baku.
The United States sees the possibility of an Azerbaijani invasion of southern Armenia in the coming weeks, the publication reports Blinken’s words.
The route in question is to the exclave of Nakhichevan, passing through the southern Syunik region of Armenia, known in Azerbaijani as Zangezur. Currently, Azerbaijan’s access there is through Iran.
