Assistance to Ukraine uses funding approved by Congress last fiscal year under the Presidential Authorization Program.
The United States of America is doing everything possible to help the Ukrainian Armed Forces achieve victory on the battlefield in the confrontation with the Russians. John Kirby, Coordinator for Strategic Communications of the US National Security Council, said this on Wednesday, October 11, Voice of America reports.
He noted that the United States has provided another military aid package to Kyiv.
“The military assistance we announced today is another important signal of our continued commitment to supporting the Ukrainian people,” he said.
According to him, the aid to Ukraine uses the funding approved by the Congress last fiscal year in accordance with the program of the president’s power.
Because of this, Kirby emphasized, the United States will continue to supply Ukraine with the necessary weapons and equipment.
“As I said before, time is not our friend, and we continue to do everything we can to help Ukraine succeed on the battlefield and regain territory occupied by Russian units,” Kirby said.
He also focused on the importance of approving additional funding for Ukraine and noted that the Biden administration is actively talking to members of Congress on this matter.
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, after the 16th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, announced the creation of several “coalitions of opportunity” for Kyiv, especially for the training of the Ukrainian Air Force.
Ukraine received a $1.15 billion grant from the United States through the World Bank’s multi-donor trust fund.
It was previously known that Ukraine is counting on multi-billion dollar US aid next year.
