NATO will react jointly and decisively if it is proven that the gas pipeline in the Gulf of Finland was blown up. This statement was made by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a joint statement with President Vladimir Zelensky to the media before the meeting of the defense ministers of the member countries of the military-political bloc in Brussels.

Stoltenberg noted that the ministers at the meeting will discuss the incident in the Baltic Sea, where critical underwater infrastructure was damaged.
The important thing now is to establish what happened and how it could have happened. If it is proven that this is a deliberate attack on critical NATO infrastructure, then this, of course, will be serious, and this, of course, will be met with a united and decisive response from NATO, the NATO Secretary General noted.
Let us recall that on October 8, the Finnish state gas transmission system operator Gasgrid Finland announced the closure of the Balticconnector gas pipeline connecting Finland and Estonia due to suspicions of a possible gas leak. There was also a report of damage to the data cable in the Gulf of Finland. Helsinki is investigating damage to the gas pipeline as a result of external influences.
Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur noted that such damage could not have been caused by a single diver or a small underwater robot.
