The defense forces repulsed the attacks of the Russian invaders in the eastern direction and advanced to the south.
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult. During the day, 33 military clashes took place on the front. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the evening report on Sunday, October 8.
It was noted that Russian troops carried out six air strikes and carried out 20 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian deaths and injuries.
In the direction of Kupyansk, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled three enemy attacks near Sinkovka and Ivanovka, Kharkov region, and in the direction of Liman – four attacks of invaders in the area of Makeyevka, Lugansk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, within 24 hours, Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled all enemy attacks north of Bogdanovka, Klishchievka and Andreevka. In the Avdeevka direction, the Defense Forces repelled all enemy attacks in the Avdeevka area of the Donetsk region.
In the Maryinsky direction, within 24 hours the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled 13 attacks by the invaders in the areas of Maryinka and Novomikhailovka, Donetsk region.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue the offensive operation in the direction of Melitopol, offensive (attack) in the direction of Bakhmut, causing damage to the Russian troops in manpower and equipment, depleting the enemy throughout front line.
During the day, Defense Forces aircraft carried out three strikes on areas where personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated. Rocket force units hit three enemy artillery pieces and two ammunition trains.
Let’s recall that since the beginning of a large-scale war, the total combat losses of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine amounted to approximately 282,280 people. In the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces liquidated 580 invaders.
