Aid to Ukraine cannot be unlimited – Italy

Ukraine’s support is unquestionable, but the longer the war drags on, the harder it is to get military aid.

Italy wants to continue supporting Ukraine against the backdrop of Russian aggression, but Italian military aid “cannot be unlimited.” The Minister of Defense of the country, Guido Crosetto, stated this in an interview on Fanpage.

According to him, aid to Ukraine will continue until it leads to the exhaustion of Italy’s own defense reserves.

Also, the head of the Ministry of Defense of Italy believes that there is a strategic disagreement on the front in Ukraine, and things are moving towards a political resolution of the conflict.

“We see that the situation in Ukraine is getting worse. It is very difficult for Kiev to regain its lost positions. And Moscow will never be able to subdue the country it attacked. We are witnessing the impossibility of resolving the conflict on the battlefield. Therefore , we continue to help the right ones (Ukrainians) – ed.), but every day we evaluate more profitable tactics for building dialogue, achieving peace and starting to return the captured and destroyed territory,” said Crosetto.

We remind you that Italy has given Ukraine several packages of military aid. In particular, American-made Italian M109L howitzers are used on the Ukrainian front. Also, Italy, together with France, supplied Ukraine with air defense systems – SAMP-T.

It was previously reported that Slovakia opposed providing military aid to Ukraine after the parliamentary election victory of the Smer-SD party, which promised voters to stop such aid.
