Earthquake in Afghanistan: more than 2,000 people killed

About six villages in the western province of Herat were destroyed, leaving hundreds of people trapped under rubble.

The death toll from the earthquake in western Afghanistan has exceeded 2,000. The Associated Press reported this on October 8, citing a Taliban government representative.

It was mentioned that as a result of the natural disaster, around six villages in Herat province were destroyed. Hundreds of people were trapped under the rubble.

The UN report states that the storm destroyed 465 houses and damaged another 135.
