Almost nine thousand families have already received extracts from the Unified Register of Missing Persons, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
As of early October, more than 26 thousand Ukrainians were considered missing under special circumstances. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Leonid Timchenko said this in a telethon on Thursday, October 5.
“Currently, more than 26 thousand people are being sought as missing persons under special circumstances. Of these, 11 thousand are civilians, almost 15 thousand are military,” he said.
According to Timchenko, information about each missing person is registered and a register is maintained. The search for citizens is coordinated by the National Police and the General Directorate of Intelligence.
He added that so far, almost 9 thousand families have received extracts from the Unified Register of Missing Persons.
It was previously reported that more than 60% of the wanted Ukrainians are alive. Most of these people are in Russian captivity.
