The German concern provided Ukraine with a new batch of SurveilSpire reconnaissance systems to combat drones.
The German armed concern Rheinmetall has provided Ukraine with additional systems for detecting and combating drones called SurveilSpire. About that it said in a company press release published on the X social network.
The order for Ukraine, worth several million euros, was paid for by the German government.
The company won a new tender for the supply of the SurveilSpire system to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, designed for reconnaissance and combating enemy drones. The complex includes a tower with day and night vision cameras, manned drones and a control system, as well as transportation.
These systems are used to monitor the terrain, reducing the number of military personnel involved in monitoring enemy positions and saving the lives of defenders. Only three people are required to deploy the system.
The system includes wireless communication channels such as 4G and Starlink to transmit video to a mobile command post. It can also provide a 5G network.
Solar panels allow the SurveilSpire to extend its runtime. The complex’s control unit processes information received from cameras and drones using special software and artificial intelligence.
Let’s recall that Rheinmetall previously confirmed the supply of the new generation Luna NG aerial reconnaissance system to Ukraine until the end of 2023.
