In particular, the Polish defense concern Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa will do this. After the visit of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to Poland in April, this enterprise, together with the Ukrainian company Ukroboronprom, created a technology center for the repair of T-64 tanks in Gliwice. PT-91 and T-72 tanks will also be serviced there. PAP writes about this.
This plant also plans to service Leopard 2A4 tanks transferred to Ukraine by Western partners.
As you know, the PT-91 Twardy is the third generation main battle tank of the Polish Army, based on a licensed version of the Soviet T-72M1. And the T-72 is a second generation battle tank, which was developed back in the Soviet Union. It was adopted by the USSR Army in 1973.
Let us remind you that recently Ukraine received from Poland a batch of repaired Leopard 2 tanks that were damaged or disabled during the fighting in the south during the counter-offensive of the Defense Forces.
