The Azov division is headed by Denis Prokopenko (Radis). Bogdan Krotevich (one of the defenders at Azovstal – ed.) is the chief of staff of this unit. Prokopenko is responsible for training personnel. It is completely integrated into the process. He’s getting back into the swing of things, making up for the time he was away,” Klymenko said in an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda.
The Minister of Internal Affairs added that before returning to their homeland, the Azovstal defenders lived in a closed area designated by the Turkish government. At the same time, he refused to comment on the political component of the agreements on the return of Ukrainians from Turkey. Klimenko indicated that he joined this process at the last stage and was responsible for the safe return of the soldiers home.
We communicated with them before, when they were still in Turkey. They were eager to return to their homeland. The guys wanted to defend our state, they said that they should be in the ranks for those remaining in captivity and about the desire for revenge for the dead.
