“I will do everything to ensure that we increase the pressure, and eventually the Russian president realizes that he cannot simply say: “I will continue until I achieve my goal, no matter how many lives the price is, including , our own soldiers,” Scholz said.
At the same time, Scholz emphasized that Ukraine, after the war, must “preserve its integrity and independence.”
He added that the partners launched many processes for this and positively evaluated the negotiations at the level of political advisers – in Copenhagen and Jeddah, in which representatives of China, South Africa and Brazil took part, among others .
“In this situation it is difficult to say that we have hope, but I think there is a way,” said Scholz.
He added that no one can cut the borders of neighboring states.
“It cannot be like this when a big, powerful neighbor says he wants part of your territory. The essence of the conflict is that we are talking about conquering the country, nothing else,” Scholz said.
Scholz added that Putin is not interested in the death and sacrifice of others.
“Putin is not interested in all this, because somewhere in the history books it should be written later: he made his state great,” added Scholz.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an order on the beginning of autumn reporting to the Russian army from October 1.
Earlier, President Vladimir Zelensky spoke about what Ukraine’s victory would look like. According to him, in the future, any attempts by an aggressor country to return to our territory should not exceed the sick imagination of those harboring such plans.
