Finland intends to continue supporting Ukraine until it wins the war unleashed by Russia.
Russia is unpredictable and the threat from the Kremlin may increase. Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orppo announced this on Monday, October 2, writes Yle.
“We need to be prepared for the fact that Russia can be aggressive and unpredictable,” said the head of government.
At the same time, he said that at the moment “there is no immediate threat to Finland from Russia.”
Orpo emphasized that his country will continue to support Ukraine until victory in the war unleashed by the Russian Federation. He noted that despite some “signs of fatigue,” Europe, including the West as a whole, takes the same position.
“The war in Ukraine has been going on for two years now. Finnish support for Ukraine has not fallen during this time. This figure is one of the highest in Europe,” the prime minister said.
We remind you that in April Finland officially became a member of NATO.
It has also been reported that Finland is negotiating the long-term presence of US troops in the country.
