The International Paralympic Committee allowed citizens of the aggressor country to participate in these competitions. At the IPC General Assembly in Bahrain, the majority of participants voted against the complete suspension of the Russian National Paralympic Committee for “violation of constitutional membership obligations.” The press service of the committee reported this on September 29 on Twitter.
Later, this committee made a decision allowing Russians to participate in the Paralympics in an individual and neutral status.
As you know, in two weeks a meeting of the International Olympic Committee is scheduled to take place in Mumbai, where the participation of Russia and Belarus in the 2024 Paris Olympics will also be discussed.
Let us recall that on September 27, UEFA decided to allow Russian teams whose players are under 17 years of age to participate in international competitions. Matches of Russian teams will be held without the country’s flag and anthem, as well as on neutral territory.
Ukraine, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, England, Finland, Norway and Denmark have decided to boycott UEFA’s decision to return Russian athletes to football competitions.
