London is confident that Kyiv will be able to win the war of aggression unleashed by Russia against Ukraine.
Ukraine’s strikes on the Russian Black Sea Fleet are an example of Kyiv retaining the initiative in the war. This was announced on Thursday, September 28, by the Chief of the British Defense Staff, Admiral Tony Radakin, who is visiting Kyiv, Radio Liberty reports.
“The recent strikes on the Black Sea Fleet are another example of Ukraine seizing the initiative. Putin has lost control of the war he started,” he said.
According to Radakin, the partners are discussing new military aid commitments, which were made in Ramstein last week. They will help strengthen and maintain Ukraine’s position during the winter and beyond.
In addition, Radakin expressed confidence that Ukraine will win.
“This visit, along with my summer visits, has strengthened my belief that Ukraine will win. The UK will be there every step of the way,” he stressed.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky met with British Defense Minister-designate Grant Shapps, who is visiting Kyiv.
Shapps, in his first message after taking office, announced his intention to continue supporting Ukraine in its war against Russia.
