The parties will consider close cooperation, including their shared commitment to support Ukraine, the European Council said in a press release.
At the US-EU summit, which will take place on October 20 in Washington, cooperation between the parties and additional support for Ukraine will be discussed. This was reported by the press service of the European Council on September 28.
“(US) President Joe Biden expects to meet with European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at the White House on Friday, October 20, 2023… The leaders will review close cooperation between the States United States and the European Union, including their shared commitment to support Ukraine in its defense of its sovereignty,” Washington and Brussels said in a joint statement.
In addition, summit participants will “advance US and EU efforts to accelerate a global clean energy economy based on secure and resilient supply chains, and continue cooperation on critical and emerging technologies, including digital infrastructures and artificial intelligence.”
It was previously reported that the twelfth package of EU sanctions against Russia could be presented in October or announced during the US-EU summit.
