On Monday, September 25, the Mars helicopter Ingenuity took to the Martian sky for the 60th time and broke its own record. This was reported by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).
It was noted that the device broke the ground speed record, reaching eight meters per second. The previous record was 6.5 m/s.
In total, Ingenuity was on the air for 133 seconds. During this time, he covered a distance of 340 meters, moving at a height of 16 meters.
The main purpose of the anniversary flight was to move Ingenuity to a new position and survey the surrounding area to find scientific targets for the Perseverance rover.
