Ukraine will protect its energy facilities from Russian attacks with air defense and engineering fortifications. Moreover, some kind of protection will be used for the first time in the world. The head of Ukrenergo, Vladimir Kudrytsky, spoke about this, reports Suspilne.
He emphasized that the power engineers are in constant contact with the officers and General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“We have some types of protection and Ukrenergo substations, where some types of protection will be used for the first time, not only in Ukraine, but also in the world, because no one has encountered such a level of threat . This is comprehensive protection, I will not go into detail, but this, both active protection – air defense, and passive – engineering fortifications,” said Kudritsky.
The head of Ukrenergo noted that no power outages are planned, but everything depends on the situation. He added that “it will be very difficult to get through this winter without imported electricity.”
It was previously reported that compared to last fall, more critical infrastructure facilities are now equipped with autonomous power sources.
