The document also provides for Bulgaria’s transfer to Ukraine of surplus 5.56 caliber ammunition from the reserves of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In Bulgaria, a group of deputies submitted to the parliament a draft resolution on the transfer of unused S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine, mainly for use as spare parts. It was reported by the Sofia Globe.
Lawmakers, including two former prime ministers Boyko Borisov and Kirill Petkov, said the military had declared the S-300 missile system obsolete. It is impossible to organize them in Bulgaria, but Ukraine has the opportunity to use them.
In addition, the document provides for Bulgaria’s transfer of surplus 5.56 caliber cartridges from the reserves of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to Ukraine.
The draft resolution must be reviewed by the parliamentary Defense Committee before being voted on in parliament. If approved, the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense will decide the number of missile systems and ammunition to be transferred to Ukraine.
Let us remind you that Bulgaria has allocated 150 thousand euros to help Ukraine.
Earlier, Bulgaria announced its intention to transfer armored vehicles to Ukraine.
